PEACE, Inc. Sumner Head Start recently welcomed Leo the Lion and representatives from the Onondaga County Health Department for a special visit focused on lead safety. During the visit, Leo brought books for the children, while members of the department’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program shared educational materials with parents about having their homes tested for lead and finding helpful information and resources.
Helping families understand lead safety is an important part of protecting children’s health and well-being. By sharing educational materials and connecting parents with resources, community partners help families learn about steps they can take to create safer home environments for their children.
PEACE, Inc. is thankful to Leo the Lion and the Onondaga County Health Department for visiting Sumner Head Start and helping spread awareness about lead safety. Partnerships like these connect families with valuable information and support, helping children and families throughout our community stay informed and healthy.
