PEACE, Inc. Senior Nutrition is about more than providing meals. The congregate lunch program also offers seniors an opportunity to gather, enjoy friendly conversation, and spend time together. From shared smiles to lively conversations, these gatherings bring a sense of community to each location.
Throughout November, several Senior Nutrition locations will be celebrating the season with special Harvest-themed lunches. The program enjoys accommodating holiday-themed meal requests from its centers, giving seniors something special to look forward to throughout the year.
At First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles, seniors recently enjoyed one of the first Harvest celebrations of the month. The lunch featured a traditional turkey dinner, complemented by seasonal decorations that helped bring the spirit of autumn to the gathering. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a raffle featuring several prizes held during the meal.
These special gatherings are a wonderful reminder that congregate lunches offer more than nutritious meals. They provide opportunities for seniors to come together, enjoy one another's company, and celebrate the seasons through shared experiences.
